Accept every way your customers want to pay with the new Square Reader for contactless and chip—EMV chip cards, Apple Pay, Android Pay, other NFC payments, and magstripe cards. The reader connects wirelessly to iOS or Android devices with Bluetooth LE or with USB if you sell with the optional Square Stand. It works exclusively with the free Square Point of Sale app to take care of payments, tipping, inventory, reports, and more. Square Reader for contactless and chip comes with a free Square Reader for magstripe so you can swipe cards the old-fashioned way, too. Pay only 2.75% per swipe, dip, or tap for Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, with no surprise fees. Square sends deposits directly to your bank account in one to two business days—or you can enable Instant Deposit for 1% per deposit to get your money in seconds. Get a Dock for Square Reader to anchor the reader on your countertop and keep it charged all day. Square’s hardware is only approved for use in the country for which it is intended. For example, hardware sold or intended for sale in the United States is not approved for use in Australia, Canada, Japan, or the United Kingdom.
Internal power supply – Whether you’re operating a spacious kitchen, small kiosk or food truck, choose a restaurant kitchen printer with an internal power supply. An internal power supply eliminates the need for snaking power cords around the kitchen so printers can be placed at different work stations. If space is at a premium in your eatery, an internal power supply can free up several inches of valuable real estate.

If you are into the Square line of products as a business owner, you have to get this NOW if you don’t have it. I am a banker by trade, and I cannot stress the importance of being able to accept the EMV/chip cards as a business owner. If you think it’s just some gimmick by banks or acquirers and processors to charge you more per swipe, you’re only partly correct. If you haven’t migrated to the ability to accept EMV/chip cards, you are at risk for being liable for fraudulent purchases made with an EMV/chip card if you use EMV/chip ICC fallback methods of swiping the card instead of using the chip. Save yourself the risk of eating chargebacks due to fraudulent charges and put this in your store, yesterday! If you go the Square route of processing cards, be sure to get the dock to accompany this device. My only gripe is that Square didn’t package this together the dock in the first place. Other than that, this device works flawlessly to accept EMV/chip cards and contactless payments.

Have used these at a lot of Arts & Crafts fairs. They work absolutely great! Even on shows with a few hundred other merchants nearby I have never had to wait more than a few seconds to get a good connection, which is a far cry from the several minute waits I often had to wait with terminals that relied on local wifi networks. In every case Square One transferred my money to my account by the next working day morning, gotta like that! Battery life is excellent, good for at least 40 cards between charges, but do be certain to keep a USB charger in your kit!
Doesn’t work with everything that has bluetooth! I had bought some cheap Android tablets that claimed to have Bluetooth 4.1, and I couldn’t get these to connect to them. For all of the “higher end” Android and Apple tablets I have, they connected just fine. Yes, it does go to sleep if it doesn’t communicate with the tablet after some time, but reconnecting on all of my different devices proved as simple as pushing the button (once I was back in square), and waiting about 10 seconds for it to reconnect – which it did without a hitch every single time. I bought 4 of these, and all 4 of them work on Android (higher end) and Apple without an issue.

I bought this printer in September, it’s now May and it’s broken. I wouldn’t suggest. We’re not a super busy business, we print maybe 15 receipts a day just to sign credit cards. We don’t print receipts for clients we email them. And it’s broken beyond repair.

Purpose: Epson receipt printer troubleshooting tests printer operation when connected to the computer. Two test modes, include a test using installed Windows drivers and a direct connection test that connects to the printer directly through the connection in use.
If no text is printed then test has failed. Double check the port settings using the self test, check the cable is correct and correctly connected, check that the Epson port service and Windows print spooler is turned off (if running) and check that you have attached the printer through the correct connector on the computer. If serial, parallel or USB, check that the port you are connecting to is also shown in the Windows Device Manager. If using an Ethernet or wireless connection check that the IP address of the printer is in the subnet of the computer you are running.
