The SM-S220i bluetooth receipt printer is compatible with Windows, Android, and iOS, ensuring easy printing regardless of your preferred operating system. The 2-inch print width is ideal for credit slips or receipts, and the 3 inch per second print speed is fast enough for most mobile or low volume sales operations. A serial port on the side of the SM-S220i supports connection to mobile devices but can also act as a pass-through for PIN-pad, NFC, or other payment peripherals.
I hate being the one to leave a bad review on an item because of a defective unit, but we have had so many problems with not only the printer, but with Star themselves, that I figured it was warranted.
Built specifically to work in environments where heat and humidity can erode the type on the kitchen order, the SP700 is an ideal printing solution. This fast, two-color printer offers crisp, easy to read type for quick viewing, clamshell design for easy paper loading and an embedded power supply for space efficiency.
POSGuys.com Square Stand POS Kit The Square Stand point of sale kit leaves the guess work out of purchasing compatible hardware that is reliable and looks fantastic with the Square Stand. These kits are designed for customers who need every part to just a few pieces to make a complete Square Stand register.
The unique TSP100 set-up utility reduces integration time to minutes even for multiple printers as it can simply mirror individual printer settings to multiple units in different locations, if required.
I am getting the pos kit with the rest stand for ipad mini 2. Is there an android device that I can use instead? How about a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0″ (Wi-Fi) ? I tried looking at the compatibility list but I’m not sure if this will work with everything I’m setting up in the kit. The Square app, rest stand, printers, etc. Thanks for any help. I’m new to square and have no idea what I’m doing yet.
Good Low cost printer, we have two of these in our restaurant connected to via USB to our Square Stands, this model is plug and play compatible with Square Stand via USB now that Square has updated their software. The only potential negative is that this model like most EPSON POS printers uses a large power adapter with a proprietary epson connector at one end, a large brick then a standard ac plug at the other end, this just means that wiring will be a little messier unless you can route all that under your counter like we did.
It features printing up to 200mm/second, high reliability, multiple ease-of-use features, dual interfaces and print options that reduce paper usage up to 30%. The printer supports 802.11a/b/g/n with 2…
This printer is fast and has useable options. I use it with my iPad and Square credit card reader. You can also use it for POS or other systems or configurations. Using it with Square credit card processor I save paper because I only print the customer copy because all the other transaction data is accessed online. And when I tap print on my iPad it starts and completes the printing in just one second. I saw this printer being used at my local drug store with a different setup and it too works well. Give it a try and I think you’ll be glad you did.

The versatile, wireless all-in-one printer with superior photo quality. Print vivid, borderless photos up to 8″ x 10″, or on specialty paper and DVDs. Get 4″ x 6″ photos in as fast as 12 seconds. The intuitive 4.3″ touchscreen makes tasks simple.
First one we got was dead. Customer service is almost non-existent. Packaged it up and paid to ship back to repair center. Several weeks went by with no feedback, then received back the exact packaging with no note or anything to indicate what the issue was, or if it had even been fixed. It seems it has, but that process was a pain. Now it doesn’t like to stay visible on the network so we are always either re-booting or just telling people it’s broken. Turns out people don’t care all that much about paper receipts anyway. Recommend purchasing directly through Square if you really need it. At least then you might get some tech support.
Embedded Web Server: password-protection, secure browsing via SSL/TLS; Network: enable/disable network ports and features, SNMPv1 & SNMPv2 community password change, SNMPv3; IP/MAC Address Filtering (IPv4/IPv6/MAC); IPSec; 802.1x; authentication via WEP, WPA/WPA2 Personal, Enterprise; encryption via AES or TKIP
Square is built to integrate with only Star Micronics brand printers, so the majority of printers that work with Square are listed on the officially compatible list above. That being said, we successfully tested the Star Micronics TSP100ECO USB (TSP143IIU) with Square.
We first bought the Wifi model and couldn’t get the manufacturer or Square to figure out how to make the two communicate, even though it’s supposed to be supported. We were told to return that and switch to this blue tooth model. Now this one won’t communicate with Square either. It’s the only receipt printer that Square publishes it supports. We don’t have any odd setup, all brand new peripheral equipment, new iPad, Square stand/Register. Hours on support with both and no resolution to date.
Samsung Printer Xpress C1810W enables businesses to improve productivity and mobility with NFC technology. It produces superb color quality for professional-looking printouts. Moreover, it prints documents fast for increased productivity.
So overall, should you use Square for Android? We recommend using it as an affordable alternative to the common iPad Square point of sale set up. With a number of Android tablets available for under $100, and a wider variety of compatible hardware, using Square with an Android device has more options, and more affordable options, for you to choose from. The Square app is a bit more limited with Android, you can only search within certain screens and items aren’t automatically added to the order the way they are with iOS, but for small businesses, it’s an easy and relatively cheap way to process transactions.
This printer comes with a disk. If you are using it with an Ipad, the disk is useless. The only thing I am disappointed with at this point is that I can not print by business logo on my receipts. This is not a downfall of the printer but the program that I am using. This printer prints the business logo ‘”IF” you are using a Mac or Windows based POS system.
The issue is fixed with iOS 9.3.2 (which is in public beta, though we don’t know when it will be widely released). You can either wait until 9.3.2 is widely available or install the public beta from http://beta.apple.com
Thanks to the Star “Keep Alive” feature, the TSP134LAN can negotiate with any networked host and automatically print an error if the connection is lost due to computer/hub failure or cable damage. It also sends an immediate warning to the remote location that the printer is offline. “Real Time Status” alerts let know you when the printer’s cover is open or when it runs out of paper. And because of the TSP134LAN’s connectivity, any Mac or iPad on the network can see the printer’s status.
The device works great. Our only issue is in the description. The description states that it is for iOS/Windows/Android. However when the unit arrived it states iOS only. We probably would not have ordered it knowing that.
@SSmobile @Kevin7 – I went ahead and moved both of your comments over to the thread where we are tracking this feature request. I totally understand your frustration and desire for Epson support. They make a mean printer that is also a fraction of the cost of most Star printers. I have personally passed this feedback along to our product team, and expanding compatibility is something that is top of mind for them. I’ll update this thread if/when this functionality is added in the future!

If you’re considering a POS system to make it more convenient for your business to manage inventory and prices, you shouldn’t look any further. For the price, you can set up a fantastic FREE POS software with all the accessories such as the stand, receipt printer, cash drawer, barcode scanner, and EMV/chip reader for one upfront cost and not have to pay for your POS like some of these not so reputable POS sellers try to market to you. Even if you don’t use Square to process your cards (which is what Square truly wants you to do), the setup for a POS system with an iPad is second to none. The software gets constant updates, works flawlessly, and is FREE. I have no regrets about switching to the Square ecosystem for running my business and selling inventory. I occasionally use their card processing, but even if I didn’t, I’d still use the Square POS system and software. No regret here!
This latest addition to the TSP100 Series provides a range of new features including a high print speed of 250 mm /second, a guillotine auto cutter (cutter life 2 million cuts) as well as thin paper capability providing benefits not only for the environment but also the user’s operating costs.
Slightly larger than the TM‑m10, the TM‑m30 POS receipt printer offers the freedom to print 3‑ receipts from virtually any mobile device or desktop PC. Plus, you can use one power source for your tablet and printer — exclusively from Epson. Approx. Dimensions 5″ x 5″ x 5”
Cons: First, the paper rolls are tiny. They will need to be ordered, as I was unable to find an office store that carries the right size. Standard rolls are too big around to fit. The default pin is also a problem. It can only be reset using a utility that does not come with the machine. I had to email the manufacture to get it. The second part of the problem is that the machine must be hooked up to a window computer to run utility, and this is done using and old style serial port which is outdated and not readily available on most new computers. Luckily I was able to find an old machine still running XP with a serial port. If you have outdated tech around, the pin is pretty easy to change with the utility. If you have a Mac, or a newer computer, you’ll have to be OK with running the default pin and hope no one messes with the machine. At a big show with lots of geeks and tons of smart devices, who knows who might connect and play with the printer. The battery also seemed to run down much faster than my iPad, even though it was rarely used. Just having it on all day will drain the battery, so if you plan on printing a lot, be sure you have a power outlet handy to keep it charged during slow periods. Also was very pricey for what it was. I paid less for my full sized laser printer, and could almost get another iPad with what it cost.
Hello, thanks for sharing. I’m opening a retail store next month, thinking I need a printer for my customer’s that’ll want a printed sales receipt. Could you tell me the model # of the printer that you use for Square? Thanks

This is a very compact printer. As a matter of fact, it fits perfectly inside a small bag. It weighs just 6.1 ounces. A lithium polymer battery powers the device making it truly mobile. It uses HP ZINK photo paper which means you never have to change cartridges ever. These papers are smudge free, water resistant and extremely durable. The fact that they have a peel-off back means you don’t need irritating glue-sticks to work with. Perfect for school projects.
One is to use a remote lpr/lpd print server which is usually built into the LAN card in the printer. The other is to use HP’s JetDirect software called hppi. However, hppi requires a LAN card that is compatible with the HP JetDirect protocol. You can check this compatibility by running the command:

The Kodak Dock is a great iPhone photo printer which allows you to print photographs directly from your smartphone device.
