If you plan on keeping your Clover Mini as a “customer facing” device, then you may be interested in the Merchant Keypad. The Merchant Keypad stays on your side of the counter, and simply allows you to enter a dollar amount that will show up on the Clover Mini, prompting your customer to pay. This is a great way to allow your customers full access to the Mini if there’s a large counter or separation between the customer and merchant. You can start refunds or sales, and you can also verify signatures on the device’s screen. The Merchant Keypad cannot function as a PIN-entry device.
We used to use a standard receipt paper and decided that for the small cost difference it was worth trying a more environmentally safe option. So far the receipts have been just as good as the older stock.
The Kitchen Buzzer connects directly the RJ11 port on the back of the printer. The buzzer sounds when a print job is sent to the TSP100. This is beneficial for high noise environments like kitchens to alert cooks that orders have been sent.
I got the AGP model they sell here on Amazon for about $10 more a few years back for my first Square Stand setup. I saw this was the drawer that Square now recommends on their site, and the price on Amazon was even better than the first drawer I bought, so I figured what the heck, I’ll just get this one. The drawer seems to be built well, HOWEVER the inside of the drawer, which they don’t show you a picture of in the description is ridiculous. It has 8 slots for coins, so that means each slot is half the size of a normal coin slot. It makes absolutely no sense who in their right mind would design that. I’ve been in business for 20 years and have had many cash registers and this is the first time I’ve ever seen anything so crazy. Also the clamps that hold the bills in place are made of metal, which you’d think would be better since they’d be more sturdy than all the plastic clamps you’ve used in registers for the last 30 years, but the design of them is strange and makes it a pain to pull them up. I wouldn’t recommend this drawer if you’ve ever used another cash register before in your lifetime because it will just annoy you.
Have used these at a lot of Arts & Crafts fairs. They work absolutely great! Even on shows with a few hundred other merchants nearby I have never had to wait more than a few seconds to get a good connection, which is a far cry from the several minute waits I often had to wait with terminals that relied on local wifi networks. In every case Square One transferred my money to my account by the next working day morning, gotta like that! Battery life is excellent, good for at least 40 cards between charges, but do be certain to keep a USB charger in your kit!
The Product itself wasn’t bad at all, the problem I had was with costumer service. I could not get the kitchen printer to work after following all the instructions provided so I called the company and after waiting for about an hour to talk to someone they were no help. They repeated to me exactly what was on the manuals and after I told them that I had already read them they told me that there was nothing else they could do for me. I kept calling and each different person that I talked to pretty much told me the same thing. To this day I have not been able to get the kitchen printer to work and no one from this company has been able to help me fix this problem.

To use it, open the app (Abbreviated as “Register” in the apps menu), You enter the amount and you can have the chip reader or the swipe card thingy be used for the transaction. The app will automatically detect when it happens. Then customer signs on the smartphone. enters email for receipt (or skips). And done, in 3 days or less you got your deposit ready for withdrawal. Customers already familiar with it, make transactions faster than cash, and I’ve notice sales have gone up, despite the 2.75% current charge (as of 11/01/16).
This receipt printer is great, but what really makes it 5 stars is star micronics customer service and warranty repair. I had a small issue with one of these printers having a tiny broken piece amd star was quick to help fix the issue amd send the printer back in record time. Some of the best people to deal with. When you buy this printer you have the peace of mind that it will last and/or get fixed for you for at least 5 years.

So I like the stand and it would get a 5 star review, but I’m not exactly sure that I got a brand new item or not. The product came in the most amazing package, would remind you of Apple…but on the front of the stand frame around the ipad there are tiny scratches, it’s not smooth like you’d expect something brand new to be. Also the swipe part that actually runs the card through, the plastic is ill fitting. You can squeeze the back wall of this part and the plastic is bulging out at least 1mm or two and you can see it’s not sitting flush with the rest of the stand…The seams should be spot on like they are with the rest of the stand…but they’re not. Would love to exchange it and give another stand a try, maybe I just got a funky one?

That sounds strange—the Contactless and Chip Reader won’t be able to pair with your mobile device without a strong Wifi or data connection. In addition, you should have received an error message within the app if the payment wasn’t successful. 😕

The “E” and “L” models are the same thing Star Micronics just switched from using “LAN” to using “Ethernet” as their preferred description for the interface. The gray model is available with the new E designation the putty colored model still uses the L.
The keys are deceptive. I was thinking that it would open with keys and with the receipt printer. But the keys are for ornament only. It only opens manually with a little switch underneath, which is useless since I have a monitor sitting on top of the register, which means I cant manually open the register if my POS system does not allow for manual opening.

The link to the printer posted previously is correct, assuming you are running your Square system on a LAN (local area network) and will be using an Ethernet printer. If you are using a Square Stand, then you will need a USB cable and a really long USB cable. I’ve purchased the printer for less with knowledgeable help here.
I own a restaurant and a beauty salon, Square (one flat fee of 2.75%) had solved a lot of problems for me. No more paper rolls or running out of paper during a transaction, no more chasing down a pen for customers to sign the receipt, no more worrying about missing a tip or doing batching/settlement at the end of day, and no more keeping rolls of receipts for potential customer dispute/charge back (by the way the ink on receipt fades after a week anyway, you won’t be able to read anything after that so keeping receipts is completely useless). Prior to Square I used Central Payment, they charged an all in fee around 2.78% (including statement fee, PCI compliant fee, anti fraud fee, and a host of other funny fees…). Then I switched to Elavon, which is promoted by Costco, the rate was pretty much the same around 2.75% for everything. So frustrated, I decided to do my own research instead of trying something new every time a credit card rep stops by my place to pitch “a lower/better rate”.
Apple MFi Certified Bluetooth Interface Provides wireless impact/ kitchen printing via Apple MFi certified Bluetooth with support for iOS devices such as iPad®, iPhone® and iPod Touch® in addition to Android and Windows devices
It is what I wanted. I used the chip reader for a while and thought the dock would add convenience for a charger and a one hand operation. One disappointing feature is that the button to press to connect to Bluetooth device is downward when inserted in the doc and I had to pull the piece that locks the reader into the dock then pull the reader to get to the button. It is something that could have been thought out when they design the read or the dock.
The product was simple and straight to the point. I was able to easily figure out how to use the device without any prior experience. Transactions were easy, fast and made the start to.my small business the kick that it needed to push more sales with more options to pay. I love how easy it is to carry along and keep with me in my bag if I wanted to. So glad to have this device !
One more critical thing, Square can handle transactions without Internet for up to 72 hrs, after that simply connect it to any Wifi and it will sync & batch all deposits automatically. It is simply not the case with all other terminals if your Internet is sporadic or unstable or lack bandwidth. VRX & Elavon m/c will reject the transaction in the middle of transaction and ask you to reset and cycle thru their initial power up programming, a major headache when there’s a line of impatient customers in front of you trying to pay and get back to work!
If you’re considering a POS system to make it more convenient for your business to manage inventory and prices, you shouldn’t look any further. For the price, you can set up a fantastic FREE POS software with all the accessories such as the stand, receipt printer, cash drawer, barcode scanner, and EMV/chip reader for one upfront cost and not have to pay for your POS like some of these not so reputable POS sellers try to market to you. Even if you don’t use Square to process your cards (which is what Square truly wants you to do), the setup for a POS system with an iPad is second to none. The software gets constant updates, works flawlessly, and is FREE. I have no regrets about switching to the Square ecosystem for running my business and selling inventory. I occasionally use their card processing, but even if I didn’t, I’d still use the Square POS system and software. No regret here!

I read this article and it appears me very interesting seriously. It’s a kind of new post I’ve ever met regarding this Restaurant Kitchen Printer. Want to know more interesting features for future from you.
Clean the printer. Use the printer’s self-cleaning feature usually found under the driver’s “Utilities” or the printer’s “Properties” section. Click “Clean Print Heads.” Or get a dry, lint free cloth and gently wipe down any accessible parts.
