Attempt to run a self test on the printer. Running a self test should print a basic page of information indicating that the printer itself is working. Your users manual should have the instructions for printing a self test. If your printer does not print a self test it’s a good possibility that there is a defect or mis-configuration with your printer, and you should contact the printer manufacturer.

After using this for a day and processing a 20 of payment via phone and bluetooth connection, I think this thing can improve. This thing does work, but it is much slower than using the mag strip reader. Cell signal is very strong via LTE.. therefore, it is not this portion.
Another common issue is that your printer may be installed on the incorrect port. You can check this by opening up Devices and Printers (or Printers and faxes if you are using WindowsXP), right clicking on your printer, selecting Printer properties (or Properties if you are using WindowsXP), and clicking on the Ports tab. Try selecting several different ports (hint: if it is a USB printer, try USB001, USB002, USB003, and so on. if it is serial try COM1, COM2, COM3, and so on. If it is parallel try LPT1, LPT2, LPT3 and so on.)
I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion assembling product was very easy to use and get connected to my bluetooth on my iPhone. It has 2 different devices you can use to take payments. I was able to easily set up and update the App so that it connected via bluetooth to my phone. The update did not take very long and the video tutorial was very helpful. I really like this product one of the easiet products to set up and use to take credit and debit card payments by far. I used the Bluetooth device and put the cc into the square it did not take long at all for it to process. Signing was very easy to do and my customers like the choice of getting an email receipt.
Once the printer is set as default, click Start / Run and type notepad and press enter. In notepad, type a test message and click File and Print. If the printer also prints successfully from this program but you are still unable to print from the other program, it is likely that that program has an issue and not your printer.

I bought this printer in September, it’s now May and it’s broken. I wouldn’t suggest. We’re not a super busy business, we print maybe 15 receipts a day just to sign credit cards. We don’t print receipts for clients we email them. And it’s broken beyond repair.
*If you have issues with the printer going offline or one of your pos stations reports an “ip conflict” you may want to use a reserved static ip for the printer. In order to set a static ip go to a browser on the network with your printer type in it’s ip address into the URL and you will go to the printer configuration page. Absolute junk. Don’t waste your time. Even with static IP addresses across the network this device would still cause conflicts. It worked all of two times, and the second time it worked the router had to be power cycled in order for that miracle to occur. Disconnected it, put it away for a year, now I can’t even connect to the device to reconfigure it. Useless. Why they didn’t just use a simple wireless LAN adapter like the Netgear WNCE2001 is beyond me.
Set up is pretty much straightforward. You download the app (Squre Register-POS), you’ll need your Business Account // Personal Account along with routing number. Zip Code, name, address, social security and what not. Pretty much what a bank would ask you. Once your account is linked, it will ask you if you want them to send you their product or if you already got it. I thought the product was going to be sent for free, but it was charging me another $50, so i wanted to cancel and it didn’t give me that option. I still have to check with customer service about that. In the meanwhile i just put “charge me later” or something along the lines.
