Gone are the days when thermal receipts were only used to show proof of purchase. With today’s ever-evolving technology, modern point-of-sale printers now have the capability to print custom text, images, and messages, making it possible for marketers to leverage receipts as a low-cost yet powerful marketing tool.
So now it’s time to drop the blank receipt paper and use the printed paper. In this article, you’ll learn how to make your printed paper roll sample with us.
1. Paper Roll Size
Firstly, we need to know the paper roll sizes to be printed. We are able to handle thermal paper roll, bond paper roll, NCR paper roll, etc. The regular paper roll sizes are:
2. Design Artwork
To make sure the printed paper is exactly what customers want, we need the Vector files because they will result in the best images. The available Vector file formats are AI, PDF, CDR, etc.
The design artwork’s repeated spacing distance, width, length and other details should be clear in the Vector files. Below is the Vector file example:

A great bonus: We can provide a free design service for our customers! That means you can just describe the design you want, and our talented design team will make the precise design based on the information you provide us. We’ll be happy to do this, and it is totally free!
3. Wrapping Orientation
Thermal paper has 2 different sides: thermal side and non-thermal side. We need to know:
- Which side is printed with artwork?
- Which side is winding outside?
4. Charge for Plate
A printing plate is always required for flexo printing. It is usually made from rubber, plastic or aluminum (see picture below). It is one-time investment. Once the sample is approved, we won’t charge for the plate again. It usually costs $120 – $400 to make the plate (depending on your printed artwork).
