I recently opened business and I got an Android tablet to use with the Square POS system. Majority of Square POS systems, I’ve noticed are being used hand in hand with the Apple iPad. So I had to do quite a bit of research to find out which cash drawer and receipt printer was compatible with the Android. This cash drawer is great with an Android and can be used along with a USB receipt printer. The Star TSP 100 series in particular. It came with a pair of keys to use when one wants to open the drawer manually and also came with the appropriate cable necessary to connect with the USB receipt printer. For this cash drawer/receipt printer set up to be used with an Android, a USB on the go adapter is needed. I got the inateck card reader HUB.
Star Micronics’ CD3 Tradition Cash Drawer series are cost effective cash drawers the integrate seamlessly into any retail or hospitality environment with a standard printer communication interface and bottom exit cable, hidden from the customer’s view. MUCH better than the swipe, and far worth it. It made me annoyed to pay for something when they get the interest, however the old fashioned retail type machines are far more expensive. This is the fastest chip reader I’ve seen, much quicker than the ones I use at large stores. And no more constantly having to swipe because the reader won’t read the magnetic strip. Every minute counts between clients, so this makes using square quicker than I used to. I got mine open box for cheaper on amazon- $35. It’s simple to set up. The only negative is you can’t just turn it off…I think it stays on standby while my phone is near. I understand some places may be constantly using theirs, but I’m not, I ring up a client 1-5 hours apart, so don’t need it to use the battery up. Either way, I’m very pleased with this.
Up for sale is a Star Micronics TSP100 futurePRNT USB thermal point of sale printer. This printer has been tested and works fine, and includes a power cable and a USB cable. Includes the TSP100 printe…
Once the printer is set as default, click Start / Run and type notepad and press enter. In notepad, type a test message and click File and Print. If the printer also prints successfully from this program but you are still unable to print from the other program, it is likely that that program has an issue and not your printer.
worst customer service ever. I bought the WIFI printer and asked them for an SDK for phonegap to make Andorid application, and the customer service told me to use Apple Airprint. Once I explained to him that Airprint is just for IOS, he started telling me you are not a software engineer.
Does the job just fine, although they really should just ship it with a USB wall outlet. Multiple tries of trying to power this AP from the printer were never successful. I’ve had no difficulty with it using the following startup method (assuming you’ve configure the AP to connect to your wifi network): plug the device into a standalone source of power (I just used a USB phone charger, since it’s powered via micro USB); wait a minute or so, then power on the printer.
Square’s hardware is only approved for use in the country for which it is intended. For example, hardware sold or intended for sale in the United States is not approved for use in Australia, Canada, Japan, or the United Kingdom
This printer is fast and has useable options. I use it with my iPad and Square credit card reader. You can also use it for POS or other systems or configurations. Using it with Square credit card processor I save paper because I only print the customer copy because all the other transaction data is accessed online. And when I tap print on my iPad it starts and completes the printing in just one second. I saw this printer being used at my local drug store with a different setup and it too works well. Give it a try and I think you’ll be glad you did.
The “4” in the model number references the auto-cutter, an auto-cutter will partially cut the paper after each print job. For kitchen printing you will want an auto-cutter over a tear bar as this will keep each order separated and make it easier to hang up the ticket over the line.

One more critical thing, Square can handle transactions without Internet for up to 72 hrs, after that simply connect it to any Wifi and it will sync & batch all deposits automatically. It is simply not the case with all other terminals if your Internet is sporadic or unstable or lack bandwidth. VRX & Elavon m/c will reject the transaction in the middle of transaction and ask you to reset and cycle thru their initial power up programming, a major headache when there’s a line of impatient customers in front of you trying to pay and get back to work!
The Clover Mini is designed to stay “in place” on your countertop. However, you can easily add a swivel-stand for additional functionality! With the swivel included, your Clover Mini instantly becomes “customer facing” so that you can quickly spin the unit towards the customer for PIN-debit entry, or to request email/phone number information. Sales become even quicker with the swivel stand.
Update: After several months this printer is still working strong and still haven’t had a problem with it. I noticed a couple of people complain about receiving the wrong printer- well the reason they received the wrong printer is because they ordered the wrong printer. The title plainly states the model is TSP143U, USB. TSP143U is the USB model, hence the U. If you need the ethernet model you’ll need one of the TSP143L series models.
I bought this for my office. I’m in private practice for speech language therapy. Some parents want to pay with Apple Pay and everyone else has a chip. The cord is plenty long. I keep the reader in the holder, but I didn’t keep the protective strip at the end. The reader is secure without the strip and with Apple making constant updates, you need to be able to pull the reader out to reset it occasionally. I still have the swiper that attached to my iPhone 7 Plus – I added an adapter to make it work, but this dock is my favorite. Great buy and great for my business.

The P550 Printer is a customer-facing device that allows Clover to communicate with your customers without swiveling the screen. Customers are prompted for the total amount on a display that’s built-in to the back of the high-speed printer. In addition, NFC (contactless) payments are built right in, so you can accept Apple-Pay, Samsung-Pay, or Google Wallet without any additional devices.
If you have a Square Stand, in addition to the printers above, you can use certain USB interface receipt printers. The following receipt printers are only compatible with the Square Stand, not the Square card reader:
If the Ping Test fails then double check the local IP address of the computer as well as the IP address of the printer. Certain firewalls can block the connection. The printer could also have the ping reply disabled (see Network card settings).
If the test page does not print satisfactorily, there is a problem with the printer. For example, if bands appear in the check pattern as shown below, this could mean a clogged ink nozzle or a misaligned print head.

Features include black or white stainless steel front drawer cover, dual media slots, and a three function lock system. The smooth black or white coated finish provides a unified appearance and complements the connected POS peripherals for merchants. The dual media slots provide extra storage for checks and large bills. For security, the key lock at front center allows for an easy manual release with a key or electronic release.
You must use the correct cable to connect the printer to the computer. The most common is a null modem cable, many systems use a plastic adapter that connects with an Ethernet type cable (this remains a serial connection, not an Ethernet connection). If printer passes self test, the settings are correct and verified, then check to see the cable is correct.  More on connecting a serial interface.
If the page prints successfully, get back into the printers window, right-click the printer and ensure that there is a check next to Set as default. Newer versions of Windows will also show a check next to the printer icon once it has been set as the default printer.
The Kitchen Buzzer connects directly the RJ11 port on the back of the printer. The buzzer sounds when a print job is sent to the TSP100. This is beneficial for high noise environments like kitchens to alert cooks that orders have been sent.
Great Product. Easy to apply, however, take longer time than I expected to add it to my network and only with tech support. Tech support from Star Micronics is very helpful. It is now up and run and make my life a little easier.

Epson’s mPOS-friendly TM-U220 impact receipt and kitchen/bar printers are compact, reliable and optimized for high-speed throughput. They are designed to work right out of the box with mobile POS applications and can print directly from iOS, Android and Windows devices. In addition, they offer all the features important to the retail and food service including two-color printing for exceptions, right-side-up printing and crisp, clean logo printing.
I’ve only had it up and running for a couple of weeks now, but it prints and cuts the receipts well and have yet to have any problems with it. Drivers disc makes setting up and installing a snap, and it comes with any/all necessary cables. It even comes with a mount for wall mounting, but in looking at it I’m not sure how you would do that or even why someone might want to 🙂
Choose an impact printer – Even the cleanest, most well-run kitchen is full of landmines that can damage electronics, especially printers. Heat, spills, particles and steam can harm a restaurant kitchen printer and cause expensive downtime while the printer is repaired or replaced.
Wow! All features in this article are very helpful I always trouble with internet supply but now I have read these instructions so I hope My problems will solve easily and keep posting like this article.
