I’ve only had it up and running for a couple of weeks now, but it prints and cuts the receipts well and have yet to have any problems with it. Drivers disc makes setting up and installing a snap, and it comes with any/all necessary cables. It even comes with a mount for wall mounting, but in looking at it I’m not sure how you would do that or even why someone might want to 🙂
Have used these at a lot of Arts & Crafts fairs. They work absolutely great! Even on shows with a few hundred other merchants nearby I have never had to wait more than a few seconds to get a good connection, which is a far cry from the several minute waits I often had to wait with terminals that relied on local wifi networks. In every case Square One transferred my money to my account by the next working day morning, gotta like that! Battery life is excellent, good for at least 40 cards between charges, but do be certain to keep a USB charger in your kit!
Epson’s TM-U220 impact portable receipt printers are compact reliable and optimized for high-speed throughput. I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. The Square reader is super simple and easy to use. It is an especially good tool for small business owners who want to accept additional forms of payments(such as credit or debit cards) Additionally, the app on the google play store was easy to find and very straightforward. One downside, although somewhat expected are the fees associated with it. For example, 2.75 percent for credit card transactions. Other than that, I recommend this product for it’s simplicity and overall use. 4/5 stars.
Choose an impact printer with a ruggedized design that can withstand the hazards of a restaurant kitchen. Impact printers are designed so a printhead makes impact with an ink ribbon, transferring the message onto the receipt paper. The type of paper is key in this situation. Using impact paper gives the added benefit of withstanding heat, oil, and other harmful conditions found in the kitchen. Unlike thermal paper, impact paper doesn’t black when it is left in the heat of a kitchen.
Generally customers don’t mind the extra charge because of the convenience of not wasting time in going to an ATM. And if they use credit card, at least 1% returns to them, so it will be more of 1.75% charge. Pretty small for products under $25.
Bought this and out of the box register opener didn’t work. Being busy I didn’t get a chance to send back under Amazon return policy so called manufacturer and gave them serial number. Told me they could send a replacement and would fix mine after filing out paperwork. Filled it out and was told tough luck no exchange no repair. Not sure what was wrong but couldn’t waste anymore time and bought a a new one which does work
Chapter 3TroubleshootingTroubleshootingThis chapter gives solutions to some of the more common printerproblems.General problemsThe lights on the control panel do not come on.Make sure the power supply cables are correctly plugged into theprinter, the AC adapter, and to the power outlet.Make sure power is supplied to the power outlet. If the outlet iscontrolled by a switch or timer, use another outlet.Printing problemsThe ERROR light is blinking and the printer does not print.First, turn off the printer and check for a paper jam. (See the paperjam description on page 3-3.)If there is no paper jam and the printer has been printing for quite awhile, the print head may be overheated. If the print head isoverheated, the printer will resume printing when the head hascooled (usually within two or three minutes). If there is no paper jam and the print head is not overheated, turnoff the printer and turn it back on after about 10 seconds. If theprinter still does not work, unplug the power supply cord from theoutlet immediately. Then contact a qualified service person.Troubleshooting 3-1

I recently opened business and I got an Android tablet to use with the Square POS system. Majority of Square POS systems, I’ve noticed are being used hand in hand with the Apple iPad. So I had to do quite a bit of research to find out which cash drawer and receipt printer was compatible with the Android. This cash drawer is great with an Android and can be used along with a USB receipt printer. The Star TSP 100 series in particular. It came with a pair of keys to use when one wants to open the drawer manually and also came with the appropriate cable necessary to connect with the USB receipt printer. For this cash drawer/receipt printer set up to be used with an Android, a USB on the go adapter is needed. I got the inateck card reader HUB.
A perfect match for Square Credit Card Processing. The printer arrived as described. Easy setup and user friendly. Printer has a metal case is very heavy duty. One can add a logo to the customer receipts. Arrived as described and within the stated delivery time.

The FD-40 allows merchants using the Clover Station to easily accept all payment types. The Clover station only allows for signature-based sales as an “out of the box” feature, and you have the option of either integrating with the FD-40 PinPad or a Clover Mini to allow for PIN debit or EBT sales. The FD-40 PinPad is customer-facing, so your customers will never need to hand their card to the server. Here are the main features:
I own a restaurant and a beauty salon, Square (one flat fee of 2.75%) had solved a lot of problems for me. No more paper rolls or running out of paper during a transaction, no more chasing down a pen for customers to sign the receipt, no more worrying about missing a tip or doing batching/settlement at the end of day, and no more keeping rolls of receipts for potential customer dispute/charge back (by the way the ink on receipt fades after a week anyway, you won’t be able to read anything after that so keeping receipts is completely useless). Prior to Square I used Central Payment, they charged an all in fee around 2.78% (including statement fee, PCI compliant fee, anti fraud fee, and a host of other funny fees…). Then I switched to Elavon, which is promoted by Costco, the rate was pretty much the same around 2.75% for everything. So frustrated, I decided to do my own research instead of trying something new every time a credit card rep stops by my place to pitch “a lower/better rate”.
Frozen yogurt shops and other merchants who sell their wares by weight can speed up checkout with the customized Clover weight scale. This scale supports up to 20lbs, switches easily between grams and ounces, and automatically passes weight information into Clover for a quick and accurate checkout process.
Choose an impact printer – Even the cleanest, most well-run kitchen is full of landmines that can damage electronics, especially printers. Heat, spills, particles and steam can harm a restaurant kitchen printer and cause expensive downtime while the printer is repaired or replaced.

Doesn’t work with everything that has bluetooth! I had bought some cheap Android tablets that claimed to have Bluetooth 4.1, and I couldn’t get these to connect to them. For all of the “higher end” Android and Apple tablets I have, they connected just fine. Yes, it does go to sleep if it doesn’t communicate with the tablet after some time, but reconnecting on all of my different devices proved as simple as pushing the button (once I was back in square), and waiting about 10 seconds for it to reconnect – which it did without a hitch every single time. I bought 4 of these, and all 4 of them work on Android (higher end) and Apple without an issue.
The keys are deceptive. I was thinking that it would open with keys and with the receipt printer. But the keys are for ornament only. It only opens manually with a little switch underneath, which is useless since I have a monitor sitting on top of the register, which means I cant manually open the register if my POS system does not allow for manual opening.
Get your iOS or Android device, download Square Point of Sale, and connect via Bluetooth LE—you’re ready to take payments from anywhere. Or set up your counter and plug your reader into the optional Square Stand and Dock for Square Reader.
So I like the stand and it would get a 5 star review, but I’m not exactly sure that I got a brand new item or not. The product came in the most amazing package, would remind you of Apple…but on the front of the stand frame around the ipad there are tiny scratches, it’s not smooth like you’d expect something brand new to be. Also the swipe part that actually runs the card through, the plastic is ill fitting. You can squeeze the back wall of this part and the plastic is bulging out at least 1mm or two and you can see it’s not sitting flush with the rest of the stand…The seams should be spot on like they are with the rest of the stand…but they’re not. Would love to exchange it and give another stand a try, maybe I just got a funky one?

I already had the square reader and just was tired of it being in other spots or being charged. The dock was a great addition to the square stand and the printer. Very easy to use. Just attach to the square stand and put the reader in. The dock has weight to it so i dont have to worry about it falling especially in the spot i put it. Definitely reccomend

Thanks Tom, but I have reached out to the Square Customer Service team.   The unit works appropriately with a strong WIFI connection only.    Using a Cellular data plan for iphone and this CLCCR when there is no WIFI available is a total crap shoot.  Throughout the day I checked the bluetooth connection between my Square CLCCR and my iphone and my iphone indicated that it was properly connected via bluetooth.  After each transaction (I slid a customer’s credit card into the device) the phone said “Transaction Complete”.  I never got a message that the reader was offline.  I proceeded to take payments as if it was working properly.  I had practiced at home in my own WIFI zone and all was well.   I really don’t think this CLCCR works reliably with cellular data plans (which MOST artists use at shows).  And there is most definately a glitch regarding a failure to indicate that the reader is not connected via bluetooth.
I just received my stand last night and I have to say out of the box, SUPER easy to use. It comes with 2 different types of mounts, the usb hub to plug in external things like receipt printers and cash drawers and even a barcode scanner. A lot of reviews said the Air 2 didn’t fit properly, but mine fit perfectly and they even include a special screw to hold it in the stand. I tested it and even picked it up an jiggled it. The ipad stayed in place. I will definitely be adding a receipt printer and cash drawer for my craft shows. Anyone on the fence should definitely give this a try!
The Star Micronics TSP100 receipt printer is an efficient and space-saving solution for any medium to high volume retail environment. Does the job just fine, although they really should just ship it with a USB wall outlet. Multiple tries of trying to power this AP from the printer were never successful. I’ve had no difficulty with it using the following startup method (assuming you’ve configure the AP to connect to your wifi network): plug the device into a standalone source of power (I just used a USB phone charger, since it’s powered via micro USB); wait a minute or so, then power on the printer.
Internal power supply – Whether you’re operating a spacious kitchen, small kiosk or food truck, choose a restaurant kitchen printer with an internal power supply. An internal power supply eliminates the need for snaking power cords around the kitchen so printers can be placed at different work stations. If space is at a premium in your eatery, an internal power supply can free up several inches of valuable real estate.
I’ve installed dozens of these square POS systems. They work fine on their own, just be sure to get the proper size/version to match your ipad, the connectors differ. To expand the system you pair it with a printer, cash drawer, scanner, and chip reader.
