Have used these at a lot of Arts & Crafts fairs. They work absolutely great! Even on shows with a few hundred other merchants nearby I have never had to wait more than a few seconds to get a good connection, which is a far cry from the several minute waits I often had to wait with terminals that relied on local wifi networks. In every case Square One transferred my money to my account by the next working day morning, gotta like that! Battery life is excellent, good for at least 40 cards between charges, but do be certain to keep a USB charger in your kit!

If the outlet iscontrolled by a switch or timer, use another outlet.Printing problemsThe ERROR light is blinking and the printer does not print.First, turn off the printer and check for a paper jam. (See the paperjam description on page 3-3.)If there is no paper jam and the printer has been printing for quite awhile, the print head may be overheated. *If you have issues with the printer going offline or one of your pos stations reports an “ip conflict” you may want to use a reserved static ip for the printer. Another common issue is that your printer may be installed on the incorrect port. You can check this by opening up Devices and Printers (or Printers and faxes if you are using WindowsXP), right clicking on your printer, selecting Printer properties (or Properties if you are using WindowsXP), and clicking on the Ports tab. Try selecting several different ports (hint: if it is a USB printer, try USB001, USB002, USB003, and so on. if it is serial try COM1, COM2, COM3, and so on. If it is parallel try LPT1, LPT2, LPT3 and so on.)

If I am at a venue where I have no power access, I still use the dock/charging station because it positions the reader for easy use. I do not put the locking piece on the top of the dock, because I do have to take the reader out & wake it up if it goes too long between uses. The on/off button on the reader is on the bottom; it is covered and unreachable when it is in the dock. That is a bit inconvenient, but if it prolong the battery life I am ok with it. Leaving the locking end off makes the reader easy to remove when necessary.

The SP700 features an optional “kitchen buzzer”. When a print job is sent to the SP700, the buzzer will sound off. This is beneficial for high noise environments like kitchens to alert cooks that orders have been sent to them. The SP700 designed-in rain channels away liquids from penetrating the printer. Its elevated base also brings additional protection and reliability when used in busy, restaurant-type environments.

I recently opened business and I got an Android tablet to use with the Square POS system. Majority of Square POS systems, I’ve noticed are being used hand in hand with the Apple iPad. So I had to do quite a bit of research to find out which cash drawer and receipt printer was compatible with the Android. This cash drawer is great with an Android and can be used along with a USB receipt printer. The Star TSP 100 series in particular. It came with a pair of keys to use when one wants to open the drawer manually and also came with the appropriate cable necessary to connect with the USB receipt printer. For this cash drawer/receipt printer set up to be used with an Android, a USB on the go adapter is needed. I got the inateck card reader HUB.

Internal power supply – Whether you’re operating a spacious kitchen, small kiosk or food truck, choose a restaurant kitchen printer with an internal power supply. An internal power supply eliminates the need for snaking power cords around the kitchen so printers can be placed at different work stations. If space is at a premium in your eatery, an internal power supply can free up several inches of valuable real estate.
