You’ll be notified of declined transactions in your Activity screen once you’ve regained an internet connection, but this would likely be after your customer has left. Square is unable to know whether that is the case until you have internet access so that’s the risk in using offline mode. It should definitely be limited to when it’s absolutely necessary. 
You must change the IP address  of the printer or the computer to be on the same subnet so the computer can communicate with the printer. This can be done by changing the IP of the printer or done by changing the IP of the computer. Once connected you can change the IP of the printer to its final value. I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion assembling product was very easy to use and get connected to my bluetooth on my iPhone. It has 2 different devices you can use to take payments. I was able to easily set up and update the App so that it connected via bluetooth to my phone. The update did not take very long and the video tutorial was very helpful. I really like this product one of the easiet products to set up and use to take credit and debit card payments by far. I used the Bluetooth device and put the cc into the square it did not take long at all for it to process. Signing was very easy to do and my customers like the choice of getting an email receipt.
Receipt printer worked wonderfully with my Square checkout terminal and drawer that I also ordered off Amazon. I love that it’s thermal so you don’t have to purchase ink. It was easy to load the paper and easy to unload. All the items you need for the printer are here on Amazon so I could have it delivered directly to my workplace.

So I like the stand and it would get a 5 star review, but I’m not exactly sure that I got a brand new item or not. The product came in the most amazing package, would remind you of Apple…but on the front of the stand frame around the ipad there are tiny scratches, it’s not smooth like you’d expect something brand new to be. Also the swipe part that actually runs the card through, the plastic is ill fitting. You can squeeze the back wall of this part and the plastic is bulging out at least 1mm or two and you can see it’s not sitting flush with the rest of the stand…The seams should be spot on like they are with the rest of the stand…but they’re not. Would love to exchange it and give another stand a try, maybe I just got a funky one?

These kitchen printers are impact printers that use ribbon (SPE-7060). The only versions that works with Clover are the ethernet model and wifi model. For most setups ethernet is recommended over wifi as it is more reliable, easier to setup, and more cost effective. Using an ethernet interface allows the printer to be placed anywhere in your restaurant/cafeteria/deli/business as long as the ethernet connection is on the same network as the clover station. The way that it is configured on the station is that in the app settings the app will look for a Star Micronics SP700 printer when it finds one on the network you can select it and it will print all kitchen orders to that printer. The clover station has no way of knowing that a USB/Parallel/Serial printer is available, it has to be ethernet.

This chip reader links to either of my square app devices​ (one is iOS, one is Android) via Bluetooth with no problem. When I have the reader in its dock & plugged in I never have trouble with it sleeping at inopportune times as other reviewers mentioned. It has increased my customer satisfaction with sales process since I now can read chip cards and offer Droid/Apple pay. It is also easier for me to use than the little magstripe reader.

@dabiekr1 – The iPad Air 2 has a slimmer form factor, so it’s not an exact fit for the Square Stand (which is very important). This also means that the headphone jack won’t line up exactly when using the security screw. You could also run into connection issues, which is something that could definitely be an annoyance during the business day. 
We had trouble connecting this printer over WiFi, but I contacted support via WhatsApp and an agent connected with me right away (despite a 13-hour time zone difference between us) through TeamViewer and solved our problems. I recommend them for their service.

I own a restaurant and a beauty salon, Square (one flat fee of 2.75%) had solved a lot of problems for me. No more paper rolls or running out of paper during a transaction, no more chasing down a pen for customers to sign the receipt, no more worrying about missing a tip or doing batching/settlement at the end of day, and no more keeping rolls of receipts for potential customer dispute/charge back (by the way the ink on receipt fades after a week anyway, you won’t be able to read anything after that so keeping receipts is completely useless). Prior to Square I used Central Payment, they charged an all in fee around 2.78% (including statement fee, PCI compliant fee, anti fraud fee, and a host of other funny fees…). Then I switched to Elavon, which is promoted by Costco, the rate was pretty much the same around 2.75% for everything. So frustrated, I decided to do my own research instead of trying something new every time a credit card rep stops by my place to pitch “a lower/better rate”.
