If text is printed, test passes. If the printer passed this test but failed the Windows driver test previously then go back and check the the port settings in Windows driver to see that they are the same as used in the direct connection test. Sheer well away from this bunch! They will freeze your customer’s payments to you in hostage of questionable verification processes. I don’t understand as to why they don’t notify of process changes when it is implemented, not when there is a transaction taking place. They froze us of $1000 order from our customer requesting further documents they’ve never requested before…Better options out there! You’ve been warned!

The link to the printer posted previously is correct, assuming you are running your Square system on a LAN (local area network) and will be using an Ethernet printer. If you are using a Square Stand, then you will need a USB cable and a really long USB cable. I’ve purchased the printer for less with knowledgeable help here.

One more critical thing, Square can handle transactions without Internet for up to 72 hrs, after that simply connect it to any Wifi and it will sync & batch all deposits automatically. It is simply not the case with all other terminals if your Internet is sporadic or unstable or lack bandwidth. VRX & Elavon m/c will reject the transaction in the middle of transaction and ask you to reset and cycle thru their initial power up programming, a major headache when there’s a line of impatient customers in front of you trying to pay and get back to work!
