Strong performance, reliable, a must have! We use square pos have no problems, kitchen tickets life saver! Tickets printed from are iPad mini within 2 seconds, no problems with Bluetooth connection, now are printer is only 3 feet away from iPad maybe that helps. Been using this printer for about two years, will never go back to hand written order tickets! Well worth the price!!!!!
i picked up some ncr receipt paper also, which works great in the printer. print quality is excellent, and the speed is plenty fast. the cutter also works very well. the footprint is small enough that the printer fits neatly behind the monitor, on top of the cash drawer. servicing the printer is also very easy, as all you need to do is open the top, toss in a new roll of paper, and make sure some extra paper is sticking out the top when you close it; no feeding paper through rollers or any of that headache. it does all the work for you.

We first bought the Wifi model and couldn’t get the manufacturer or Square to figure out how to make the two communicate, even though it’s supposed to be supported. We were told to return that and switch to this blue tooth model. Now this one won’t communicate with Square either. It’s the only receipt printer that Square publishes it supports. We don’t have any odd setup, all brand new peripheral equipment, new iPad, Square stand/Register. Hours on support with both and no resolution to date.

This unit worked very well out of the box. Yes, it would have been nice to find instructions, or even a url for where to find the manual, but some kind souls have posted about that in the q&a, so no biggie. But yesterday I plugged it in to charge, after. It using it for a couple of weeks, and no joy. The unit shows no sign of life at. I have removed the battery, checked and wiped the connections, etc etc. The return window closed 26 days ago so looks like I’m screwed 🙁 I’m dismayed to have spent $295 (including taxes) for a paperweight, and not sure what to do next. 😩
Nice dot matrix receipt printer for use in a commercial kitchen to print out orders. It’s a larger printer compared to the thermal printers and it’s quite loud. Not a bad thing in a kitchen as the chef will hear the printer when a new ticket is up. It does by the way have a buzzer jack so when a ticket is printed the buzzer goes off as well. Easy to set up even without instructions that were not included in the box, nor was the power cord. I think I received a used or returned unit so hopefully instructions and a power cord should be included. Star has a very good website with all documentation online. I believe this printer will work well in the kitchen environment. Be sure to stock up on ribbons & paper. Also, be careful who this or any other product for that matter is sold by. If it’s not sold by Amazon.com there most likely will be a different return policy than the easy & liberal Amazon.com return policy. This is why I did not return the item since the seller I purchased from (Antonline) had such a restrictive and arrogant return policy, I thought I’d be in for a fight. Since it worked & I had a power cord I just kept it, it wasn’t work the potential aggravation.
