Receipt printer worked wonderfully with my Square checkout terminal and drawer that I also ordered off Amazon. I love that it’s thermal so you don’t have to purchase ink. It was easy to load the paper and easy to unload. All the items you need for the printer are here on Amazon so I could have it delivered directly to my workplace.
Printer is exactly as described. What a great price! We had it installed by our computer guy in a few minutes. It is a slightly newer model than the one we had previously but the ink ribbons, paper and the cable hookups all work perfectly with the new printer.
I own a restaurant and a beauty salon, Square (one flat fee of 2.75%) had solved a lot of problems for me. No more paper rolls or running out of paper during a transaction, no more chasing down a pen for customers to sign the receipt, no more worrying about missing a tip or doing batching/settlement at the end of day, and no more keeping rolls of receipts for potential customer dispute/charge back (by the way the ink on receipt fades after a week anyway, you won’t be able to read anything after that so keeping receipts is completely useless). Prior to Square I used Central Payment, they charged an all in fee around 2.78% (including statement fee, PCI compliant fee, anti fraud fee, and a host of other funny fees…). Then I switched to Elavon, which is promoted by Costco, the rate was pretty much the same around 2.75% for everything. So frustrated, I decided to do my own research instead of trying something new every time a credit card rep stops by my place to pitch “a lower/better rate”.

Super fast shipping, and great product! There is a glitch with the TSP100LAN and older printers that I want to mention. After talking for days with Star’s support, we figured out that on some models, they “time out” and stop looking for LAN after 20 seconds, but the power pack takes 30 to start up. Therefore, when you turn them both on at the same time (because they are using the same power source) the printer stops looking for the power pack before it has fully started. So all you have to do is set up as the instructions say, then (remember at this point you are on separate power) switch off the printer and back on and watch it connect like it should. Then simply shut down both devices and re-wire as the original instructions. Strangely enough, unless you reset the power pack, it works fine now even if you turn off the device and it is powered by the printer. My only guess is somehow the printer remembers the link and re-connects? Anyways, a little tricky, but works great! Much better than the bluetooth ones and twice the range at least! I have two hooked up on my food truck, both wireless to a hotspot. One is a kitchen printer with buzzer and the other is the main printer connected to ipad mini running square and running a cash drawer. Oh, and even though they state in the manual that you cannot run another device off this dk jack, you definitely can (I run the buzzer off the kitchen printer). Good luck to all!
If you use the parallel interface, unlock the wire clips on both sides of the interface connector, remove the ground connector if necessary, and then disconnect the cable from the printer’s interface connector.
You’ll be notified of declined transactions in your Activity screen once you’ve regained an internet connection, but this would likely be after your customer has left. Square is unable to know whether that is the case until you have internet access so that’s the risk in using offline mode. It should definitely be limited to when it’s absolutely necessary.

High-speed throughput – Kitchen backups can quickly snowball into extra waiting, so trim seconds off meal prep times whenever possible. A restaurant kitchen printer should have a high-speed throughput of 13 receipts per minute, which increases staff productivity and efficiency in the kitchen. The printer’s clear, easy-to-read tickets means your staff doesn’t have to play guessing games with the orders –they can print tickets quickly, assemble the dishes faster and ensure every selection comes out correctly the first time. Faster service means more throughput, higher profit margins and bigger tips for your wait staff.
When a printer is unable to print it’s a good possibility that either the printer is experiencing a hardware or software related issue. Before testing the software it is always recommended that the printer be tested for hardware issues first.

The ECCC program offers two advantages: maximizing the profit potential of your service department and building long-term relationships with your customers. If you’re interested in becoming authorized as a service provider, you must meet certain Epson requirements.
I bought this for my office. I’m in private practice for speech language therapy. Some parents want to pay with Apple Pay and everyone else has a chip. The cord is plenty long. I keep the reader in the holder, but I didn’t keep the protective strip at the end. The reader is secure without the strip and with Apple making constant updates, you need to be able to pull the reader out to reset it occasionally. I still have the swiper that attached to my iPhone 7 Plus – I added an adapter to make it work, but this dock is my favorite. Great buy and great for my business.
For lower to moderate cash drawer use, the CD3-1313 is an ideal choice. High volume cash handlers would benefit from the full size CD3-1616 drawer for easy organization of currency. Optimal in any POS environment, the CD3 Tradition cash drawers will enhance not only cash operations, but also appearance of your POS terminal.
Thanks Tom, but I have reached out to the Square Customer Service team. The unit works appropriately with a strong WIFI connection only. Using a Cellular data plan for iphone and this CLCCR when there is no WIFI available is a total crap shoot. Throughout the day I checked the bluetooth connection between my Square CLCCR and my iphone and my iphone indicated that it was properly connected via bluetooth. After each transaction (I slid a customer’s credit card into the device) the phone said “Transaction Complete”. I never got a message that the reader was offline. I proceeded to take payments as if it was working properly. I had practiced at home in my own WIFI zone and all was well. I really don’t think this CLCCR works reliably with cellular data plans (which MOST artists use at shows). And there is most definately a glitch regarding a failure to indicate that the reader is not connected via bluetooth.

This receipt printer is great, but what really makes it 5 stars is star micronics customer service and warranty repair. I had a small issue with one of these printers having a tiny broken piece amd star was quick to help fix the issue amd send the printer back in record time. Some of the best people to deal with. When you buy this printer you have the peace of mind that it will last and/or get fixed for you for at least 5 years.
If you have a specific problem relating to print quality, a printout problem not related to print quality, or a paper feeding problem, or if the printer does not print at all, refer to the appropriate section in this chapter.
A fast, two-color printer that prints normal and large sizes. When you use it with Clover, you can even print orders in different languages (For Asian characters, order the STAR SP742 Asian Character Kitchen Printer).
I recently opened business and I got an Android tablet to use with the Square POS system. Majority of Square POS systems, I’ve noticed are being used hand in hand with the Apple iPad. So I had to do quite a bit of research to find out which cash drawer and receipt printer was compatible with the Android. This cash drawer is great with an Android and can be used along with a USB receipt printer. The Star TSP 100 series in particular. It came with a pair of keys to use when one wants to open the drawer manually and also came with the appropriate cable necessary to connect with the USB receipt printer. For this cash drawer/receipt printer set up to be used with an Android, a USB on the go adapter is needed. I got the inateck card reader HUB.
