I use this with Square Register on a Samsung Galaxy Note (3 ?). Once it’s set up it plugs right into the USB On The Go adapter, app detects the printer, and I can print my customers their receipt! Very professional looking instead of just a text message or email URL, which many of our customers wouldn’t really know how to use. It seems like a high price to pay for such a small seemingly simple device but so far it appears to be a sturdy, lasting machine. A package of receipt paper lasts a long time. If things fall through it has a high resale value as opposed to some other devices (just check out eBay and Amazon used).
The HP Sprocket is one of the best portable photo printers in the business. It is designed to print social media photos on 2 x 3″ stick backed photo papers. The printer is designed to ideally work with smartphones and tablets. All you have to do is connect your social media account via the Sprocket App and make prints.
The TSP143III offers three forms of connecting to you POS system. Choose from LAN, WLAN or Bluetooth. The Ethernet version for LAN connectivity is plug-and-play and requires no special setup. The WLAN (or wireless LAN) now uses a revolutionary “Push’n’Connect” WPS setup for easy setup and supports 801.11b/g/n with 2.4GHz for speed and reliability. Finally, the Bluetooth version uses a Bluetooth paring connection much like you would find on a new car for your phone. So no matter which solution your POS system requires, you will be up and running in no time.

I bought this printer to work with Square Apps.on the I phone and I pad. On the I phone the square app. doesn’t have a place to add the printer. It does on the I pad and works great right out of the box. You can use 2 1/4 X 42″ thermal paper, the same size I use with my Verifone 8020, just google it When pairing with I pad the code number is 1234 as most. Doesn’t come with info, but I found the manual on posworld.com that you can download. At first tried to buy from posworld.com, ordered and waited for 3 weeks and to this day haven’t heard from them yet. Had to file a depute with DiscoverCard. Forgot about Amazon. Ordered on Monday, got it Wednesday. It will print cash or charge receipts, quickly. Now I don’t have to try typing email or text receipts. Just takes to long.

I love that we can print PDF417 barcodes on our receipts using simple font substitution. If you have any control over your printing software, I would highly recommend looking into that function of the printer driver. (Although we use PDF417, the printer can also generate many other 1D and 2D barcode types.)
The device is also quite easy to set up and use. It comes with a free downloadable Polaroid ZIP App which you can find in the app store. It’s also battery powered so you don’t always need to have it connected.
The Epson XP-640 is a pretty powerful iPhone printer that can also be used as a scanner and copier. As such, it’s quite multipurpose, but as such it’s not very portable. It’s a stationary printer. You can get pictures in 4″ x 6” dimensions and borderless photos of 8″ x 10” dimensions. Furthermore, you can also get double sided prints to save paper and time, and it has a fast output time of just 20 seconds.

Thanks to the Star “Keep Alive” feature, the TSP134LAN can negotiate with any networked host and automatically print an error if the connection is lost due to computer/hub failure or cable damage. It also sends an immediate warning to the remote location that the printer is offline. “Real Time Status” alerts let know you when the printer’s cover is open or when it runs out of paper. And because of the TSP134LAN’s connectivity, any Mac or iPad on the network can see the printer’s status.

Most manufacturers don’t rate the duty cycle for these printers. That’s as inexcusable as a car manufacturer not telling you how often to change your oil, but, for now at least, it’s what you have to live with. The rule of thumb for these printers is: If you’ll be printing enough so you’re concerned about the duty cycle, and the manufacturer doesn’t rate the duty cycle, don’t buy the printer. You may need to look instead for printers aimed strictly at professional photographers and retail stores.
This is an impact printer. So it makes a noise when it prints. Why would you want this? You might want it if you are in an area such as a kitchen where thermal paper receipts don’t print as well because of moisture in the area. You would not want this noise around customers. But if you have a moist area such as a busy kitchen this printer may be what you can use. Here is the user manual for the Star Micronics SP742ML.
Please note, these printers can only be used with iOS devices at this time. I don’t have a timeline for when they’ll be supported with Android devices yet. But I’ll report back when I have an update! 😀
The usual rule for printers is to find out the printer’s monthly duty cycle (the maximum you can print per month) and its recommended duty cycle, and make sure the recommended duty cycle is more than you plan to print. Unfortunately, this is almost impossible with most dedicated and near-dedicated photo printers.
Tons of customization settings for specific needs that come with its own program, this has been a huge difference compared to our last which required you to dig around to even have a hope to adjust things

You can absolutely connect more than one printer connected to your Square POS. Depending on the device that you are using hardware will vary. Follow the steps below to connect a printer to your iPad:
TSP650 – Turn off the printer, press and hold the paper feed button while turning the printer back on, once the first receipt begins printing, let go of the paper feed button. Approximately 30 seconds after the first report prints, a second report will print with the header “Network Card…”. At the bottom of this second report will be an IP Address.
