Pay Pal says this is compatible, but the few reps I have spoken with are not really familiar enough to guide me through. My LG Optimus phone runs T-Mobile 4g. I connected stand alone router(LAN?) to printer. I am guessing there is a conflict and I need to disconnect 4g or whatever wifi is connected to phone in order to pick-up signal from LAN router, assuming I can’t receive two simultaneous signals. That would disconnect me from Pay Pal transaction. Don’t know what I missing, but so far it’s a lot of wasted time and money. There’s no customer service that I can find with printer and the user guide is scant. I’ll take another look at Star website, but don’t expect to find a solution there. A USB connection would have likely prevented many issues/

We had similar issue. I’m not sure if the Square hub provides power to attached USB devices or just networking. I updated iPad software and Square app. I did cold boot for iPad and Square dock / stand hub. Square CS told me hub provided power to stand but not other devices. Contact reader battery was dead, so I connected to Apple power head and direct to elect outlet. Once charged, connected to app via Bluetooth which worked then disconnected next day. Today I’m plugging charged chip reader in dock back to hub via USB. For now ok, but will check on battery later.

Most manufacturers don’t rate the duty cycle for these printers. That’s as inexcusable as a car manufacturer not telling you how often to change your oil, but, for now at least, it’s what you have to live with. The rule of thumb for these printers is: If you’ll be printing enough so you’re concerned about the duty cycle, and the manufacturer doesn’t rate the duty cycle, don’t buy the printer. You may need to look instead for printers aimed strictly at professional photographers and retail stores.
Be sure the printer and the iPad are connected to the same network. To confirm this or change your Wi-Fi network, go to the iPad’s Settings and tap “Wi-Fi” located in the left sidebar. Then select the network that the router is broadcasting and click “Connect”.
I bought this printer to work with Square Apps.on the I phone and I pad. On the I phone the square app. doesn’t have a place to add the printer. It does on the I pad and works great right out of the box. You can use 2 1/4 X 42″ thermal paper, the same size I use with my Verifone 8020, just google it When pairing with I pad the code number is 1234 as most. Doesn’t come with info, but I found the manual on posworld.com that you can download. At first tried to buy from posworld.com, ordered and waited for 3 weeks and to this day haven’t heard from them yet. Had to file a depute with DiscoverCard. Forgot about Amazon. Ordered on Monday, got it Wednesday. It will print cash or charge receipts, quickly. Now I don’t have to try typing email or text receipts. Just takes to long.

To get the cost per photo for a dedicated photo printer, simply divide the cost of the print pack by the number of photos it will print. To get the total cost of ownership, multiply the cost per photo by the number of photos you expect to print over the printer’s lifetime, and then add the printer’s initial cost. This total is the best basis for comparing prices.
