Small businesses have many choices for mobile credit card processors, from independent vendors that offer all types of credit card processing to merchant-account providers, banks and other financial institutions. We had similar issue.  I’m not sure if the Square hub provides power to attached USB devices or just networking. I updated iPad software and Square app.  I did cold boot for iPad and Square dock / stand hub.  Square CS told me hub provided power to stand but not other devices.  Contact reader battery was dead, so I connected to Apple power head and direct to elect outlet. Once charged, connected to app via Bluetooth which worked then disconnected next day.  Today I’m plugging charged chip reader in dock back to hub via USB.  For now ok, but will check on battery later.

The transition from a traditional POS to an mPOS also signals a shift in the way people are paying for their goods. As more people use credit card or other forms of payments such as mobile payment apps, NFC, bitcoin, etc., there is less emphasis on cash. However diminished, cash cannot be ignored because people still use hard currency to pay for goods and services. So how can we make cash mobile?
This thing works awesome, and there are tons of other reviews, so read those for more info. Only problem we have had is the stand has a hard time connecting to chip reader occasionally. When you open the program for the first time, there is like a 10% chance it won’t connect to chip reader. You have to quit app and restart. Gets old.

With both printers you will need to use Epson’s Bluetooth Pairing Utility (Bluetooth Connector V 2.0) instead of the standard printer driver package. The setup process is fairly straight forward with the step by step instructions available for download here. By default your pairing code is ‘0000’, but for security reasons you may want to change that.
Note that the type of paper you use can make a difference in the overall effect for a given image, so ask what papers are available for the printer. Most manufacturers offer an assortment of fine art papers for near-dedicated photo printers. In many cases, you can also get paper-specific color profiles for a given printer so you can use it with third-party fine art papers as well.
The device comes with a built-in battery. This battery lasts for a full 25 prints. You can thus take it practically anywhere you want to and print without any electricity or wireless / internet connectivity.

The device uses a special paper type and ink. The interesting thing is the amount of ink the printer comes with just the right amount for the number of paper loaded into the device. That can be 18, 36 or 54. The idea is to minimize wastage of paper and ink as much as possible. Canon calls this the Dye Sublimation technology. This technology ensures that the images you print will remain smudge free and fade free for decades. Undoubtedly, the Selphy CP1200 is one of the best portable photo printers in the business.
