“Square D Credit Card Processing 2018”

POLITICAL RETALIATION After an initial positive experience with Square Up for over a year in my Business, as soon as my Political Views crossed their Boards and Presidents lines, the nightmare began… and I’m a Democrat!, But I sued Obama for Constitutional Qualification Violations to the U.S. Supreme Court 12-5276 & 14-9396 as a Presidential Candidate myself.
Awful experience just signed up and had all my bank information verified and reived a complimentary deposit. Once I attempted collect from a customer with a credit card they hold the funds and say my bank is no longer verified. I try with no avail to update information and only get e-mail responses dancing around the fact that they will not release my funds to me. I have made multiple requests at this point to close the account and the only response I get is to give them more banking information. This company is a scam
With Square, you’re locked into using the Square Register app and Square-supported integrations. There’s some big names on the list of available apps, but the selection is still limited. Merchant account providers give you far more flexibility in what equipment and software you choose.
i read one post indicating the person getting the tires in CANADA put in the dispute after two weeks after the transaction, is there a time limit to file a dispute, or can someone get the services, and after, lets say, one year get the money back in a a dispute? got me wondering now. oh heck is taking a credit card at all safe for any merchant? world is full of krazy greedy people is the problem.
Square is holding over $1700. I just purchased a business 1 month ago and now I have no money to pay my bills. I sent in requested documentation of the validity of my business, but today I recieved e-mail stating they are holding my money for 180 day and that I cannot run any more transactions. I have several clients scheduled this week, but will not be able to collect payment. I don’t know what to do! This company has made it impossible to run my business. If anyone is reading – please advise!!!
To clarify, we do use a traditional credit card processor for in-store transactions, and we’re happy with their service. We used Square specifically for e-commerce, because they created an easy-to-use software to list and sell items online without setting up a complicated shopping cart, any programming knowledge, or any monthly fees, just a reasonable percentage of each transaction.
Square’s Payment Terms allow Square to offset any obligation you owe us against the balance of any connected Square account see Article 16 here. As such, we’ve exercised our rights to offset your liability for chargeback-related debits from the available funds in the connected account.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!! They deactivated our account without any notice, saying that our funds would be held for 90 days and there is no way to reverse this decision. WE ARE A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS. There IS NO FRAUDULENT activity on our account whatsoever, so the fact that they are suggesting this is ABSURD. We are reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT USE SQUARE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. We are contactin our attorney tomorrow.
– If you hire employees, you will have to leave your iDevice or Android device at the store in order for your employees to process credit card transactions, whereas with a traditional merchant account, your employees can simply use the store’s computer or stand-alone terminal.
We have now signed up with Intuit GoPayment and our account has been approved. We have not yet received the card reader. We have, however, processed our first card by manually inputting the information and the process went smoothly without a glitch. The biggest advantage with the Intuit Go-Payment system is that there are real people who can be reached by phone for questions or problems. Prior to signing up, I contacted them twice just be sure. At this point, I expect a good relationship with Intuit Go-Payment which was not my experience with Square-Up.
Some thingis not right here. Square does not have a number for customer service to find out why they took 3 dollars more on top of the original transaction. My customers are upset and I need some one to help me in this.
Ditto… never had a problem with this company. Like you i probably follow the rules. 99.99 percent of the people sign and all online is done through Square Market…. love that too. I would be happy to talk with anyone about Square.
Square INITIATES the transfer in 12-36 hours from sales – sometimes it takes 48 hours – never in my experience longer than that once your account is set up properly – and as far as I know they don’t initiate transfers on Sunday and I don’t remember seeing one go on a Sat either.
We signed up our high school booster club with the square payment option to accept credit card payments at our annual fundraiser. We had a great experience collecting over $5,000,00 in credit card payments in one day. We believe that our collections doubled from previous years we offered the credit card option. We had our money deposited in the bank the Tuesday after our event ( it clearly states that deposits are made each business evening, except Saturdays). Our event was on a Friday evening, we did not close out until almost midnight, that meant our deposit would not be placed until Monday night. Which seemed reasonable to us. Sure enough, on Tuesday morning the treasure received confirmation of the deposit from our bank! The service has a learning curve, especially for those that are not tech savvy, or who shy away from new technologies, but within 15 minutes even they were comfortable to use the app! Great experience and this app has helped our boosters increase our donations in some very difficult times! The only negative that I can think of is the inability to include names on each individual charge, or view the email receipt. I am sure this is some sort of security measure. But we use the app instead of writing up receipts and cross referencing names and payments would be nice.
For a one person business that only does sporadic transactions it’s fantastic. They’ve never withheld a transaction, but then I’ve never charged more than about $200 at a time. Considering how inexpensive it can be, and how much they’ve done to break open the industry, I’m glad to have them.
If you’re using an Apple device, make sure the audio volume balance is exactly in the middle. To check, visit your device’s settings > tap General > Accessibility. Scroll down to the hearing section and move the “audio volume balance” directly in the middle.
I had my account placed on “hold” pending verification of funds, too. Well, the credit card had already been processed and charged for the full amount while Square sits on my money. So, I issued a refund and will use another service.
I’m in the process of opening up a restaurant. Quick service restaurant, and I would say credit card transactions would be around $5-$70 per ticket. in avg. i would be making 1500-$2000 day and half of that would be in credit cards. is square best for my business
Ben, I tend to avoid coinbase for numerous reasons. Wallet-to-wallet transfers is really what bitcoin needs to begin to stabilize. Consumer BTC price points need to be established. Until then, bitcoins are a commodity in themselves.
This company is a total joke. I suspect the extent of their so called customer service staff is an answering machine on the floor of some abondonded building. Someone needs to report this scam to the authorities they are absolute theives. I can’t beleive they are still in business. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY you will regrete it, I promise you. They are completely aware of the issues and just dont care, period!!!! If you want to piss off your cutomers and have these people sit on your money as long as they want go for it otherwise choose ANYONE else because square is the absolute worst CC processing company EVER!!
I’ve only been using Square for a month. I’m not a large company with a hella lot of sales at this time. However, I do hope I can build this relationship over time because you couldn’t pay me enough money to use the real scammers and corporate scumbags when transacting credit card sales: Corporate Banks.
